Joshua Gwilt - Programmer/Synth Builder

Since attending Bournemouth University, Josh has picked up new skills as well as polished his attributes. 2 new skills he has been developing are his programming and synth building ability. Using C## computer programming to build sequencers and musical elements and Reaktor 5 to build his synthesizers, Josh has taken to these skills like a fish to water. Although being new to this, in the near future Josh will be offering these skills to the public - keep an eye out on this page for upcoming news on this.

C# Programmer

A now keen programmer, Josh has been able to create and program a number of different things. One thing that sticks out from his recent exploration of computer programming is his creation of a music sequencer drum machine. As one of his assignments for his degree, Josh used his programming skills to create a 16 beat drum sequencer, with tempo variation and 8 different drum sounds. Able to create this in a short period of 2/3 weeks, Josh is heading towards becoming a very competent programmer.

Reaktor 5 Operator

One of Josh's favourite parts of the course so far has been being able to use and modulate synthesizers he has been able to create using Reaktor 5. Describing it as 'being like Lego', Josh has enjoyed becoming an architect of synthesizers with him creating a 32 partial synthesizer for his degree. Below, you can see the synthesizer's aesthetics and also a few examples of the patches creared using it's frequencies, amplitudes and effects.

Web Design

Creating this website has been a lot of fun for Josh and below is a brief explanation of how he constructed one of the pages:
